The Upstate New York Minority Supplier Development
Council, Inc. is part of the national network
NMSDC. The National
Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is one of the leading business
membership organizations in the country. Our approach is two-pronged. We help our corporate members develop, expand and promote minority business
development programs. And we certify minority-owned businesses and provide them with access and the technical assistance, training and support they
need to grow and market their services to prospective buyers.
The NMSDC
Network, which includes 37 affiliated regional councils, matches more than 15,000 certified minority businesses (African,
Hispanic, Asian-Pacific, Asian-Indian and Native American) with its more than
5,000 corporate members, including America's top publicly-owned companies, as well
as universities, hospitals and other major buying institutions.
Minorities represent 26% of the population of the United States, minority businesses represent only 11% of total businesses, 6% of gross receipts and 3-4% of total
corporate purchases. Much more remains to be done.
Minority businesses are well positioned to contribute both to job growth and the overall economic health of minority communities and the country as a whole.
NMSDC is in a unique position to further the aims of America's corporations and strengthen minority-owned businesses. We have a vision - a vision
based on the simple but powerful act of partnership. Join us. Share our vision. Profit through partnership makes good business sense.
